Christine Krumins: Full service hotel near funeral homeNoteworthy details: I had about two dozen guests coming into town for a funeral so I reserved the Dante room as a place for us to gather for food and fellowship. The room would have been better if it had at least a sink and maybe a fridge and/or microwave. The front desk staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I can't say enough about the kitchen in that we were allowed to store our luncheon leftovers in the walk-in freezer. However, the unfortunate situation was that they didn't have enough staff on Sunday morning so were only open for a few hours for take-out. Two other things worth noting - the pool was packed with kids and the entrance to the pool was right across from the Dante room; and the bereavement rate was higher than what people were able to find online. This was my second stay here in conjunction with a funeral and I would stay again.

Camisha Brown: This Holiday Inn Express was simple great!I gave it a five starts for everything truly. The staff was very nice and professional. The breakfast was really good and honestly the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel stay. Location was right off the highway numerous food places around in walking distance was a huge bonus.Doors lock after a certain time so not anyone can just enter the hotel at night. (room key card needed to gain access back) was pretty nice feature for safety.Hotel was clean, room was spacious and clean, walls were a bit thin and could hear other families in their rooms but nothing too drastic. The cleaning ladies were amazing.The meeting rooms were spacious as it held 3 teams in there comfortably.Billy was phenomenal!!Rooms: Spacious rooms.Thin walls.Super clean.Microwave + Mini Fridge + Coffee Maker w/Cups + Ice Bucket.Safety: Safety Feature - Locked front doors after a certain time. Room Keycard is needed for access back into the hotel.Walkability: Numerous Food spots in walking distance as well as gas stations!Highly recommend the Pizza spot across the street 100% Halal and sooo delicious.Noteworthy details: Staff from the front desk to the cleaning ladies are all so very nice!Laundry 24hrs on site small fee to use.Pool is located outside.

Thadine Kazmer: We stayed here with our cat while our floors were being refinished. The suite with a door between the bedroom and living room was great . The hotel is a little older and shows some wear but all in all was very nice and all the staff we met were very pleasant. It was a bit over the top noisy with parties on Friday nights but by 1 AM things settled down. I guess that has to be expected. I would stay again, that they allow up to 2 pets is a real plus.

Anne With an E: My family stays here almost exclusively or at one of it's nearby subsidiaries, when we visit Detroit. I think that we stayed here, five out of the past six times, within a year's time. Even last month, too.Food & drinks: National Coney Island all types of goodies getting stores are nearby. Walmart. Buscemi's. White Castle. Arbi's. Sit down family restaurants. Lots of pizzaria's! Many within walking distance.

Francisco Giner: Very welcoming staff, and very professional. Clean room with a nice view. Very clean parking area and building as a whole. They have all you need in your room with restaurants and other shopping right next door. Lots of people staying here long term, which goes to show they treat people well. They could use more parking because that does get a little tight. I’d stay here again if I needed to book a hotel in the area.

Molly Percet: NEVER will I stay with this brand of a hotel ever again—the worst hotel experience of my life. I felt so UNSAFE. If you are a woman traveling alone, DO NOT stay here.I booked this room through hotwire because of the lower rate. There was a mix-up with the name on my reservation which complicated check-in. This was not the hotel's fault. However, the way the hotel handled it was horrible.I don't know if the manager was new, but she was pretty useless. I don't know if the hotel has a general policy of lousy customer service or just bias towards specific customers.Hotwire corrected the reservation issue fairly quickly, and I finally got to my room. A strange person walks straight into my room twice within 5 minutes using the keycard. I called the front desk to discuss my safety and the lackluster customer service. Next, I spoke to the manager, Heather Sancrowicz, and again she was useless.The manager told me the only people with master keys to the room were hotel staff, but her staff wouldn't enter my room unannounced. So, if it wasn't hotel staff who entered my room twice?After my complaint, the front desk started calling my room every 15 minutes, allowing the phone to ring only once before hanging up. At this point, I unplugged the phone, put the extra locks on my door, and pushed the recliner seat against the door till I checked out. I was scared and disappointed with the hotel's lack of accountability.The employee's goals were to make me feel unsafe, unwanted, and harassed. They succeed. I was too nervous to sleep. The most frustrating part is that I paid for this horrendous treatment. Don't make the same mistake that I did. Please take my warning and stay elsewhere.

Drew Montgomery: Room 243 is completely infested with ants and flying ants. Im disappointed of the fact out of all rooms, they put me in this particular room that's infested. I feel like I've been setup. I couldn't even sleep at night with them flying around. And I used my loyalty points to only stay for 2 nights and this is the kind of service I get for being an elite member customer. I should get a refund but I know they're too stingy to do that. I won't be coming back here again.

I'm feeling at home all the time.I recommend this hotel and I will be back all the times that I will stay in Detroit
