Wanted to especially note that very recently, after my father-in-law‘s passing, we were in a rush to get his wedding ring polished and buffed for his burial. Lewis not only took on the job but did it within a day and a half so that we could have it in time. All of the staff are so kind and friendly and helpful. Devin Day: Do not service your pieces here unless you want them to come back damaged. I brought two quartz watches in for battery replacements, and the person who serviced them scratched both case backs in multiple places. I brought them back in to address the scratches, and they brushed the machine finish on one to a point that it is now very dull and scratched-looking. Moreover, there are now smaller though more apparent scratches on the sides of the watch case, and my leather band was additionally damaged--no doubt when someone was trying to rub out the original scratches. Very dissatisfied.You're better off sending your watches back to the manufacturers or buying the tools to do them yourself.

The couple who owns this is incredibly nice and they explained everything that needed to be done. My ring is very delicate so I was nervous it would be difficult to fix, but it looked great afterward and was very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back for any other needs!

I have shopped here for 20+ years and never in all my days have I been more insulted in my entire life!I went to him once before, shortly after my husband passed away to have a watch resized that he had left me. The jeweler preceded to tell me that the watch was fake. Okay...it didn't really matter to me. All I asked for him was take some links out because I wanted to wear the watch my husband left me. Mind you, later another jeweler told me that it was indeed authentic. But again it didn't matter...because it was something my husband left to me in his Will.Well...I guess I'm a gluten for punishment. I took a ring to have it resized. The jeweler in China where I had it customized while on business, made it bit too small. My husband wanted desperately to have this ring made from one of the stones he purchased for me during our travels...so this was very special to me.I again take my item to this guy at Meijer and as soon as I handed it to him...he immediately stated..."well you know this isn't a real black diamond". I guess he has magic fingers that detect the authenticity of diamonds because that is all that he had to go by. And besides that...I didn't ask him to authenticate my stone! All I wanted was for him to do is resize it and give me an estimate before he did the work. But he threw his hands in the air and said he wanted nothing to do with it??? Because I had it made in China??? Because I am a minority and maybe minorities don't own real jewelry...I haven't the faintest idea.I complained to the Meijer store manager that assured me that this matter would be addressed...and it seemed he was not surprised...kinda of repeating the scenario along with me...as he had heard this very complaint more than a few times.To put it blunt...this jewler has no customer skills and moving forward...has no empathy which takes his actions to a whole nother level. I am in business myself and I know that when it comes to unlocking potential...that you must embrace diverse people and perspectives, inspire others and support them. This buisness does none of the above. And in fact has caused me to redirect my business elsewhere. And I am encouraging others when telling my story. Kroger is right down the street!My suggestion for Meijer going forward...is to have a buisness occupying that space that is willing to go above and beyond...putting customers first...modeling themsves with high integrity and ethics and be a reflection of what "Meijer" stands for. And having this man insult me this way at a time I should have been rejoicing my husband's memory was UNCALLED FOR!!Just SAD!!

The man helping me didn't up sell me and try me to get me to buy the best thing they had. it was my first time their and would I not have changed my mind I would have bought another name brand watch in their store, but their own in house watches were so brilliant I had to make my first watch a schlanderer & son's watch. They did good job, at reasonable price, and did it right then and there, saving me time to take another trip to come back to collect it. The owner was very warm and welcoming. He personally took it upon himself to try to fix a very intricate problem before I left town. Needless to say, he fixed it perfectly in record time. The reason Schlanderer and Sons has been in business for almost 100 years is because they treat their customers like family and provide incredible jewelry and impeccable service. I would just like to offer up a suggestion of when a customer wants to sauder rings together. We look to the jeweler and professionals for advice; mine came back as a NO WAY it was going on. I love the ring and will not change jewelers,...I just suggest not mentioning "that doesn't happen" or insist it's the same size...when it's OBVIOUSLY not...or the cost I just apparently saved by them covering cost to size. First, I brought in a ring that needed an uncommon fix and was a little tricky. They did it beautifully. The guy that worked on the ring came out and talked to me. He had definitely done his research and made the ring wearable.Today I brought in pieces of a watch band that is special to me which I though I would be able to fix. Jake took the pieces and the time to do a meticulous, exquisite job sizing and fixing the band, which is now, with the watch, looking great on my wrist.While there for repair work, I often hear the other interactions with customers.. They really enjoy their work, and enjoy helping customers get the right thing for them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them. They're honest and know what they're talking about.

I called on a Tuesday and expressed my frustration with our current (online) jeweler, we had been completely let down and were a week and a half away from engagement photos and still hadn't had my ring back. I went in that Thursday and discussed options for getting my ring properly done (correct band and size), Ryan and Victoria went over my options with me - I didn't even have the ring back but they were able to get moving on the process. In less than a week they designed a new (very similar) ring, got me in the correct size, and had it back to me days before my engagement pictures. The staff were so welcoming, gave me several options, and were very transparent with how they priced it (prices were very reasonable). Jessica Carroll: We had such an amazing experience with Abracadabra and would definitely recommend! We went in back in January, just to check it out. I was thinking I would want a custom made engagement ring, but didn't know at all what I wanted, as I'm not a jewelry person. Vittoria and Courtney were amazing! They spent so many hours with us. The first day we checked out rings, and I was pretty overwhelmed with all the different decisions that would need to be made. They were so good about letting us take a break and come back. When I came back, I told them about an idea I had for an engagement ring. They spent another couple hours talking it out and sketching some quick designs to get an idea. After that, they sent us our sketches, and a couple weeks later we went back in to check out stones. And again, they spent a couple hours with us playing with a bunch of different stones to get the right look. Through the shutdown, they kept in contact with us, and although the mold was done, was happy to let us wait until we could see it in person, at which point their safety protocols were on point! They kept in communication until the ring was done in August. Again, an amazing experience, wonderful staff, and would highly recommend and will go back myself!

NyxtheGoddess73: My fiancé and I went into this location to get a few pieces cleaned and his watch resized. We were both very disappointed with our experience here. My fiancé went up to the register and talked to the guy there and was told nope we can’t clean your pieces and we can’t resize the watch. But you can take some soap and water to your pieces at home. Didn’t offer to inspect the diamonds in any of our pieces. Meanwhile I’m browsing around looking at stuff and no a single sales person came up to me. They were all huddled together on the tablets. Overall very disappointed.

I didn’t feel rushed at all during the design process. I wanted the jewelry in time for my 50th birthday so Brenda came in over the weekend and worked on it to ensure I would have it in time. Her craftsmanship is unparalleled. The necklaces came out even more beautiful than I had imagined!!

Steven Patterson: We needed an engagement ring resized. Everyone else was quoting us a couple of weeks and a few hundred dollars for a fairly simple ring. They offered a much more reasonable price and were able to get the ring back the same day! It's been a couple of months and we haven't had any issues with the jewels being loose or anything like that. I will definitely be going back!

Jesse Welch: The engagement ring that was resized for my fiance A MONTH ago already has loose stones. When trying to provide the warranty information, we were met at the counter with a half awake male employee who could barely explain why he couldn't find the account we had just set up a month ago, under any phone number provided OR explain clearly if he needed a "Warranty" Number or "Order" Number. I'm starting to think choosing Zales was a mistake, no matter how pretty the ring is.

Jeanie Smith: Went in to try on some “enso” rings at first. The salesman did not seem like we mattered that much to the small sale with Enso rings. We knew nothing about the rubber rings and how they fit. We told him we believe he was a size 9 then when we tried on the Enso he somehow fit in a size 11. We looked at metal ring next and he just gave him the rings in the glass that were size 11’s. But we then got a size 10 due to the 11 being too big. Bought the ring but then after an hr he said that the 10 was too big also. We went back and talked to a lady and she check his ring size and he was a true size 9. Luckily they had the 9 in stock. The exchange was fast and haste free. The man never checked his ring size to see if he was either a 9, 10, or 11. Getting rings the right size is a huge deal and he should have double checked his ring size instead of my fiancée having to “think it fits”. I gave the 3rd star for the easy exchange going back.

James Tran: If you truly love and care for your loved ones, please do not buy them anything from a Zales. Especially if it’s the Ann Arbor location. If you truly hate and feel scorn for your enemies, then do everything in your power to lead them here. I don’t get how you hire an entire team that has RBF. There’s one gentleman who happens to be there every time I’m there to get my monthly jewelry repair done and he has treated me with the utmost disdain. I don’t know if my existence is the bane of his life but he surely does know how to make me feel inhuman.

I was having a hard time finding options with a small curve (to compliment a peekaboo diamond on an engagement ring from another store) but Zales had some beautiful options! We appreciated how easy it was to browse and try on different styles, we didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. Resizing was quick and very easy!

Joseph Hnatow: At 11:20am on 10/20/21 I attempted to get a ring size adjustment for a ring I received as a gift. I gave documentation and was told they couldn’t do anything for me unless the buyer was there. I asked for help checking my finger size to verify and the gentleman dropped the ring of sizers on the table and just talked to another guy ignoring me. I then asked for a spacer and the gentleman used pliers with no cloth that scratched up and damaged the bottom part of band. I said something and he said that’s why you should have got to protection plan. I then asked for my paperwork back to leave and he said that he lost it as he folded it up and put it under the desk. I then told him I saw where he put it and he then gave it back. No one introduced themselves and the whole experience was very rude, and the gentleman were disrespectful. He was even looking away while using the pliers while he damaged my ring. This is unacceptable, don’t support this business.

They are not helping me anymore with this issue and the store manager is telling me to sell it on ebay. Worst customer service. Wonder how they are still in business.

Hailee Sherwood: Rude employees! Everytime I come in contact with them they either lie or they are rude! I can see why zales are shutting down left and right. If they weren't the only people with the disney collection I would of just went somewhere else!

Eve: So far zales has been nothing but pleasant. Returns are super easy as long as you have a receipt, resizing my rings only took half the time they said it would. I definitely recommend
