The Mud Room: what do users think?
Rachael Snyder: Great experience in our clay pot making class. We got to come back and paint them. The teacher was so fun and made sure everyone had a good time!
Vivi M'Rita: Cute little spot. A night out with my sister's painting your choice of pottery item and chatting it up.
Bob Zomermaand: I was invited to join a couple of my favorite people for a time of painting a ceramic something of my own choosing. While I was a little sceptical, it turned out to be a nice evening of creative effort. I hope that once the item is fired that I will have a cool salsa bowl. From the sheer number of items waiting to be picked up, I would say that the little store has a good bit of business. After painting an item myself, I can see why they have so many people showing up for a delightful time together.
Misscookin: Very nice. Family friendly.
Jennifer Sutherby: Had a great time painting pre-made pieces. Our teenagers really enjoyed it as well. Santi was so kind and helpful. Was a good family outing.
Alexis Wilson: First time coming here & will definitely be back! So many cute options, can’t wait to see our finished product. Staff was super friendly & everything was clean and organized!
Tricia Tubergen: I have visited the mud room twice this winter. Once for pottery painting and the second for glass fusion! What an awesome experience! Everyone that works there is so kind and friendly.
Allen: Good place and amazing staff and very friendly just slightly expensive
Mara Reid: My husband gifted me the “community class” - it was such a wonderful, fun creative experience! No experience necessary - they walk you through step by step and help you create your very own masterpiece.
Alex Kapraun: Wasn’t allowed a lot of creativity. Was corrected by the “instructor” many times on creative decisions. Felt like everyone had to have pre determined outcomes with their pottery. For the price you pay you may as well buy your own wheel and do it at home.
Elizabeth Shoemaker: Very expensive. Each peice starts at 30$ and up.
Sel: Would definitely come back once I have a better creative vision. I am not artistic in any way, but it was a cool experience.
Amanda Didion: Had an absolutely amazing time today!!! We got there when it was busy and there was a little over an hour wait so after we put our names in the employee suggested the Mexican restaurant around the corner to get some lunch. Once we were back and seated, another employee went over everything and was extremely helpful. My mom, my nieces and myself had a great time painting and seeing others creations. Can't wait to pick up the final products. Will definitely be going back even if it's a solo project
Jen Kok: My girlfriends and I had a great time learning something new in the Potters Wheel room. Jessica our teacher did a great job teaching us how to use the wheel, she was patient and kind and added to the fun. We all walked away with fun pots that we created ourselves and great memories. Recommended experience for all.
Tamara Smith: Friendly atmosphere, great options, fun for girls day out.
lindsey johnson: My experience at The Mud Room was fantastic! My significant and I went for a much overdue date. The atmosphere was positive and energetic with people of all ages. They had a wide range of ceramics to choose from, with the circle ornaments starting at $17, and the more intricate pieces going up to $100+. You should expect to spend about $15-$25 an hour for entertainment (and a really cool piece of artwork). The instructions are straightforward and easy to follow, and the are available to reread and ask any questions. I would highly recommend visiting the tool/technique station next to the check out desk, along with viewing the wall displays for inspiration!
Stephanie Shallal: This place was absolutely amazing! Amanda was super nice! I loved being here just because it was so relaxing and stress free!! Definitely want to go back and recommend to other people!!!
Amanda Cole: A very great place to go paint an relax! An very affordable too
Stephen Seger: Fun and easy to learn!
Amanda Smith: This was so fun! My son and I booked a session to learn how to use the wheel. The instructor was super nice, helping us along the way. Definitely worth the price for a memorable experience.
Ted Mosies: Great fun!

The Great Escape Room Grand Rapids: what do users think?
Credence Ottino: Our lady was very helpful as we went with two kids (4 and 2) she was patient with us and even went above and beyond after we ran out of time to explain a few things we missed :) we signed up for more tickets for another time during our visit because she was such a lovely lady.
Holly Beamer: We had a great time! Our 9 & 11 year old had a blast helping us figure out the clues🙂. We will definitely go again!
France Robert: This was the best escape room experience I have had. Challenging but welcoming my personal challenges in solving problems
Abigail Kolkman: They did a great job! It was my first experience with an escape room. Super easy check in, fun room with a good challenge (we did the Presidents Club)!
Mackenzie Beeney: Very fun experience with friendly staff! They let us know what the solutions we missed were afterwards, which was really appreciated and satiated my curiosity. 10/10 would go again.
Benjamin Stuart: Loved the puzzle. Great team building op.
Joseph Vig: My group had a wonderful time. Thank you for a great experience
Naman Jain: I enjoyed it
Elizabeth Vander Plaats: Very fun!!
Micah Klompien: Pretty enjoyable place for my first ever escape room!
Xia Pimpleton: Finally got to enjoy one of my birthday (3.29.23) presents from my daughter Xia Pimpleton today. She got us an escape Room all to ourselves. It was at The Great Escape Room, Dr. Watsons Infirmary. We got to perform heart surgery. The doctor was out and it was left up to us to do the surgery. She knows I love stuff like that. We dressed up like nurses, Scrubs, Caps, Masks, Crocs and Gloves! With just two people in this room, figuring out puzzles we got it! You know we can't get photos of the inside, that operating room was fun. Y'all my Scrub top is a "Grey's Anatomy" Srub top 👀 Dope!!! I love that show as well. THANKS DAUGHTER I LOVE YOU ❤️!!!
Sidney Ryan: I had an amazing time with this experience. 10/10! I would definitely do it again!
Nate K: This was a blast. The guide Lianna was excellent and made the experience very immersive and fun.
Deb Tribbett: Fantastic staff, fantastic rooms. The puzzles are not linear! Have been twice and already bought tickets for next time.
Jesse Pipe: We had a great time at the Great Escape Room with my work team. Wes helped us in our escape from Moriarty’s Gameroom. I hope to come back again and try a different room!
Rosemary Stellino: It was a great fun and we finished with 5 minutes to spare. I proved that an old geezer of 76 still has it.
L. Poplawski: So much fun! We went as a way to celebrate Mother's Day. The grand kids loved searching for clues! Such a fun way for a family to work as a team. We loved it!!
Tim Breed: We visited the escape room as a birthday gift. We had a great time. Staff was helpful at just the right level of involvement. Thank you for the awesome experience. And we beat the time limit by five minutes! 👍
Ron Parkes: This is a company that discriminates against people for who they are. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Do not give this company your business, their business practices are terrible! I have honestly never felt so humiliated by a company in my life, unprofessional is an understatement!(It’s a shame and a bit classless that I have been referred to as a disgruntled employee in their response when I am talking about how they discriminate against people. It’s a shame they prove me right. Please be careful when dealing with this business, you see how little they care about the feelings of those they wrong.)
Lisa P: We did the Mountain Murder room and it was challenging but fun. We used all three of our clues and were able to escape within 52 minutes.
Chelsea Smith: Always a great time. Professional and friendly staff. I have done three of the rooms and they are all so different and challenging in a good way! Highly recommend!

City of Grand Rapids, City Hall: what do users think?
M DILLY: Great customer service!
Jennifer Dibble: People who work there rude!
Jon Benedict: I frequently call 311 and visit city hall representing the properties that I manage. Every interaction with the city representatives is educational and provides me with a solution to my problem. From the forestry department to engineering, they have you covered with all things civic!
Anthony Delvridge: Enjoyed some good noodles
Scott Decker: Calder plaza is the bomb ❗
Kevin Bemman: There is a new system in place and you get to take your picture and everything. Slow the first time through but eazy peazy the second round!
Valynn Lage: Love you, GR!
Richard Claycomb: The City of Grand Rapids has an income tax policy that encourages people to commute to work in the City but live in the suburbs. People who live in Grand Rapids and work in Grand Rapids pay more income tax to the City of Grand Rapids than those who work in Grand Rapids but live outside of the City limits. This simply encourages people to live in the suburbs and spend their incomes they make working in Grand Rapids in the suburbs which stymies the re-development of run down areas south of downtown Grand Rapids to create safer neighborhoods and places for people to work. Why should someone who lives and works in Grand Rapids pay more in income taxes used to maintain streets and roads in Grand Rapids that see the most wear and tear on them from commuters who live outside the City but work in the City and who don't pay the same amount in income taxes for the upkeep and repair of the infrastructure of Grand Rapids? Also, there has been lots of apartment development in downtown bringing in new residents but the City has not worked to bring in a supermarket that people can walk, bike or take a short bus ride to.There is a Meijer's grocery store on the west side of the Grand River on Bridge Street but it's not easy to get to for downtown residents who live east of the river, particularly those living in income based housing buildings downtown who don't own cars to drive to that grocery store. The Downtown Market is for take out and is mostly gourmet foods and too costly for most people to do all of their grocery shopping at.This lack of a downtown supermarket encourages car ownership so people can get to grocery stores outside of the downtown area and that is not what downtown urban living is supposed to be about. With more people moving into downtown without a supermarket to buy their groceries at, the need for more car ownership to buy groceries outside of the downtown area creates parking problems for tourists and people who live in the suburbs who want to spend time in downtown Grand Rapids seeing the sites and financially supporting local businesses by buying things at downtown stores and dining at the downtown restaurants and cafes.
Mikayla Watkins: It was amazing there, the people of Grand Rapids are very welcoming and know how to party!!!! GR Pride 2022 was fabulous The queens stole everyone's breath, LGBTQIA+ family and Allies were dressed up and looked stunning.......Especially the very pretty person in the pinstripe pants and horns 😉😘 I hope this encourages more to come out next time, whether your family, or an ally, or just someone that feels the need to show love for another Valid, Deserving, Loved, and proud human being!!!!! You are welcomed!!!!!!! That much I can guarantee!Happy Pride month and stay safe.
Graham Morrison: Fun place for a festival however it would be nice if they had a bathroom option outside of poorly maintained portable toilets.
K J: Downtown Grand Rapids for the 2022 Food Truck Festival. Tons of people. Loads of good food. Had a BBQ, crepe and ice cream sandwich.Wonderful time. Great weather.Awesome experience.I only have one complaint/observation.I know the food truck needs power. I get that. But every time I waited in line. We were stuck listening to generators. VERY LOUD. Couldn't hear a darn thing. Maybe a housing to damper the sound or a way to locate them at a farther distance from the trucks. Not a deal breaker. Just annoying.
Rick and Brenda Becker: Enjoyed an evening in the foyer to celebrate our friend’s choreography skills in the Kinky Boots production!💃🏾👢👢
OrangeandBlack: Very nice, friendly assistance in the city income tax office.
Suzanne Freiberg: It's the Calder!! What's not to like???
Robert Davis: Wonderful place to be love the area
Esteban “Pedro garcia”: Excelente.
andrew opatik: Great experience awesome ppl work here
Paul Gipson: Doing good business downtown.
Roberto Martin R: Muy hermosa el centro de Grand Rapids MICHIGAN.
Medic 1647: Downtown GR is decent enough. No more special than any other City of comparable size, however, I will say the Parking is deplorable and the Parking Ticketers are everywhere!
Cindy S: Quick friendly service

The Cheney Place: what do users think?
Remington Phillips: We had our wedding at The Cheney Place on 5/13/2023 and it was everything and more we had hoped for. From the amazing planners, to the individualized decor and exceptional event spaces, we were absolutely blown away. We wouldn’t change a single thing about our wedding day. The Cheney Place is a 5 star venue with 5 star service.
Michael Lewis: Amazing place! Everything was great and the decor was fantastic! The wedding was perfect! Highly recommend!
March81 Photography: This venue was absolutely stunning! They were great to work with and from a photographer's perspective there were so many great vignettes and neat little places to capture beautiful portraits of our couple. For being a March, entirely inside wedding our clients wedding gallery didn't miss a thing!
Ruth Wittbrodt: If you are getting married in Grand Rapids, you must book The Cheney Place. Not only is the venue gorgeous and unique, but the staff that help you out along the way are top notch. We worked with Sara and she was fantastic. I was a bride that asked a lot of questions and really wanted consistent communication via email - and Sara did just that. I never felt like an email was going unanswered or that I was unsure of what what needed from me. Anyone working at the venue is knowledge and will help you bring your vision to life. Guests will love the cocktail hour space upstairs, and the reception area is perfect for anyone looking for a modern industrial look. The staff put all of our decor out perfectly the day of, and it is amazing that they help you pack things up and make the end of the night super simple. I promise this venue is where you should get married!
Madison Kemme: An amazing wedding venue with eclectic modern vibe! The staff was super helpful in helping us pull off our special day!
Emma Varley: This venue is nothing short of stunning! I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding here last summer (Emma Varley Photography). It is truly one of the most unique and beautiful venues! Every corner you turn you see a completely original and new area, that lended so much versatility to my couple! The venue is cohesive and full of character, I loved working here. The staff was amazing to work with and I would recommend it to any couple!
Michelle Nedved: I am SO happy we picked The Cheney Place as our wedding venue! The space is beautiful, quirky, and was such a hit with our wedding guests! They all were gushing over the cocktail hour space and the elevator entrance was a HIT. One of the reasons we fell in love with the Cheney place is the fact that you could get away with minimal decorations, as the venue speaks or itself. Unfortunately, there was an ice storm on our wedding day, meaning outdoor pictures were out of the question. Luckily, The Cheney Place has SO many cool spots for pictures inside, that we didn't even care about the weather preventing us from going outside. The staff was fantastic to work with from start to finish and made us feel at ease with the process! We worked closely with Colleen as our coordinator and she was so fun, helpful, and thanks to her, the day went off without a hitch! My only tiny complaint is that at our "final details meeting" 3 weeks before our wedding, the individual who hosted our meeting was very clearly quite ill... We were a little upset about this, as there were other staff members at the venue at the time. I understand that people get sick and "the show must go on", but I wish that we were given the option to do the meeting via phone, with another staff member, or at the very least, the sick staff member wear a mask during our meeting. Had it been at any other point in the process, we would have cared less, but being exposed to germs 3 weeks before our wedding that we had been planning for 1.5 years, was a bit upsetting. Luckily, we both stayed healthy enough to still enjoy our big day!Overall, Cheney Place is a 5 STAR venue and I would choose them again and again! If you are thinking of booking with them, the answer is absolutely YES!!! :)
Madelyn Buhrman: The Cheney Place is the best venue around!!!!!! Not only is it gorgeous, but everyone who works there is kind, helpful, and 1000% knows what they are doing! We specifically worked closely with Abby who was fun, caring, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Seriously the day went PERFECT because of them! Every person at our wedding commented on how beautiful the venue is and my friends told me everyone who walked upstairs to cocktail hour mentioned how cool it is up there. The elevator entrance was so fun and made the day even more memorable. My bridesmaids told me watching me come down made them sob even more. Seriously you won't regret booking with this venue!! They are organized and were so helpful during the days leadings up to the wedding.
Tracey Van Gorp: This place is amazing.
Sabrina Ball: We absolutely loved this venue! The Cheney staff were amazing with all their help, from preparing beforehand to the day of. It took so much stress off us with there assistance during the day. The place is beautiful on every floor, especially the cocktail/second floor, which every one of our guests complimented. They also allow you to have options for a caterer, instead of only one, which made it possible for us to have one of our favorite meals (nachos!) for the dinner. We highly recommend this venue for others and can't thank the staff/venue enough for everything they did!
Taylor Hines: i was and still am so obsessed with this venue, the space is amazing and stunning, and the staff is so helpful and friendly. they were all amazing at helping me put this day together, and getting everything set up and taken down. I could not recommend this venue enough!
Jane Smith: Wonderful experience with the Cheney Place - staff was responsive and helpful and the space was so magical - thank you for a great Holiday party!
Amanda Sall: I truly can't say enough about the staff at TCP. From the time we first booked to the day of and even after they went above and beyond for us and were incredibly communicative. The day of was completely stress free and flawless. I appreciated having a day of coordinator included in the package as well so there was truly nothing me or my guests needed to do. Thank you a million times for helping us have such a flawless and memorable wedding day.
Megan Packer: This wedding beautiful is stunning, has some amazing industrial character, and the staff are wonderful. We loved having our wedding here!
Clara Lisicki: We just had our wedding at the Cheney Place this past Saturday. We knew the second we toured it in 2021 that this was our venue; Saturday confirmed our decision. The staff is fantastic - coordinating vendors, organizing decor, maintaining the order of events. They worked with our work schedules for meetings and took what inspiration pics we had and created an amazing venue. Our guest raved about the second floor space for cocktail hour and that it is a hidden gem with the nondescript exterior. We would highly recommend The Cheney Place for anyone looking for a venue - great location, minimal decor needed, and AMAZING staff.
Sydney Bartell: We had the best time at Cheney Place for our Aug 2022 wedding. They truly handle everything for you during the day, and we didn't have to worry about a thing. The venue is STUNNING and they were super easy to coordinate with long-distance.
Unheard-of Gamer: There was a lesbian wedding I went to there. First time ever seeing that, pretty cool. Nice interior and just tons of places to sit and chill. Very nice.
Mary Greenwell: The Cheney Place team is amazing! They were so kind and supportive in helping me coordinate drinks, decor, linens, timeline, and so much more. This venue is fun, unique, and gorgeous. I absolutely loved being able to host the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one place. And with the charming bridal suite and third floor for our first look.. it really couldn’t be easier!Highly recommend hosting your event at TCP!
Katie & Zack Schwartz: The Cheney Place is such a wonderful, beautiful place to get married filled with amazing people that will care so deeply about your wedding. We had such a perfect day getting married at the Cheney Place. All our guests raved about the venue and my husband and i can’t stop talking about how helpful and caring the staff at the Cheney place was, especially our day of coordinator Abby who made sure that everything went off perfectly. She coordinated with our vendors and made the day as stress free as it possibly could have been. We also used their Photo Booth service and it was such a huge hit with our guests. Everyone loved getting their photo strips. We cannot recommend the Cheney Place enough.
Brittany Bedard: We got married at TCP on 9/30/2022 and we were simply blown away by the work they did! Everyone went above and beyond from the very beginning after booking with them. The communication was always seamless and I felt like my vision for the wedding was always heard. The day of, our coordinator, Abby was so amazing.. she spent so much time making sure all of the small details for our day were perfect and they truly were! The day went so smoothly without a single hiccup.. they coordinated with our other amazing vendors and made sure everything arrived on time. I thought the space was beautiful when we first toured but when it was finally set up for our wedding I was almost brought to tears. Just stunning!! Thank you so much to all of the staff at The Cheney Place that truly made our wedding one of the best nights of our lives :)
Matthew Smith: An industrial warehouse converted to a wedding venue.

Ashley Kolbus: I was asked by the front desk checking in if I wanted to try one of the rooms with the gym equipment in it. I took them up on it and loved it! Motivated me to workout and stretch every day. I wish more hotels had this option! I still went to the gym to use the Peloton and dumbells but the room was great. Everything was clean and all team members were extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay here again for sure! Easy walk to many restaurants. Nice new hotel.
Aspen Andriessen: Amazing place to stay at!
Stephanie Ann Scott: Rude caucasian female staff upon check in. Woman said, I'm going to have to see your ID first. We have to check IDs for anyone who is not a Diamond member. I thought we were allowed to do virtual check in? Sorry, I'm not a "diamond" member yet. No room service menus in the room, no working QR code, and getting on my phone after driving 3 hours is the last thing I want to do. Restore the menu that you used to serve at the bar/lounge. Who wants to sit in a noisy sports bar. Rude staff when I called the restaurant next door, told me, "we are really busy, I don't have to to go over the menu with you" (Big E's) Customer service has gone down big time. Miracle at the front desk was amazing in sharing these concerns with management.Restaurant next door sucks, rude staff.Nearby activities: Riverbank Run.

Willie Jarrett: New hotel, friendly employees, clean foyer, and fast check in!!Rooms: Clean, new, up to date, big, and spacious is only way to describe it!Nearby activities: Close to downtown, parks near, bars, and restaurants!Safety: Security, but great area, and upscale business people frequently stay here!Walkability: Very nice restaurants, bars, concerts, shopping, and parks all in walking distance!Food & drinks: Great, and open menu for all!Noteworthy details: You will not be dissatisfied, or disappointed if you pick to stay here!
Don Keegan: Stayed here as we had before and had a decent experience then, but this time the hot tub was broken, and they really didn’t care. The bar was closed. Water was leaking from the roof into the pool and other areas it wasn’t supposed to. It was just BAD!! Time to bulldoze and start over! They’ve let this place lapse.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
gabs renee: My room had no hot water and had someone else’s hair in the tub and all over bathroom floor. They refused to refund even tho I was checking out. I’ll never ever stay there againRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Chrystal Holdren: The hallways really smelled. They actually smell of smoke really bad when you’re not supposed to smoke there so either people are still smoking in the rooms or it was so bad it just embedded in the walls and everything for many many years ago! I really didn’t go in the bathroom much because the shower had a lot of hair in it which i finally took down with toilet paper but it grossed me out! The walls were dingy, and the counters look like they hadn’t been cleaned! In the bedrom, the walls were dingy in the tops of the dressers look like they hadn’t been cleaned off! I told the guy downstairs at the desk, but he seemed to kind of just shrug it off and say sorry! Normally I’m one to go further with it at that point, but I’m going through a divorce and there’s been so much arguing lately. This was supposed to be a time for me to get away from that so I just went back upstairs and fell asleep! I also got what I thought was a Riverview room not worth the extra $15/$20 to be honest! Now the location is great it’s easy to find right off the highway so I will say they got that going for them!
brian tenbrink: Great Indian restaurant. Very nice and clean. Staff was helpful.
Emma Loughead: Never even had the chance to book our group reservations. I’ve tried for 2 weeks straight leaving voicemails, emails, and messages with the front desk to get a quote and still no response. I spoke with the manager last week and he said it’s probably because I never filled out the group reservation form and that’s why she never got back to me because she didn’t know what I was looking for. So he sends the link for that and still no response. I will not waste my time trying to book her ever again.
Jack Stahley: Visited a friend here and the rooms are great for value, but the elevator stopped working and had to walk up and down the stairs.
Emily Koski: Sandeep provides great customer service!Rooms: 1/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 1/5 …More

Taking a shower was a little gross tub was full of water wasn't draining we could have changed rooms but we had already taken all our stuff out. Definitely won't be back .Rooms: 2/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 3/5 …More
