That Michigan Guy: Rented a car for a week while my truck was being repaired from an accident. Everything went great. The manager is a really great guy and helped a ton. All the staff was professional. Highly recommend this place.
Alternate Reality: Manager of the store is amazing, spent over half an hour helping me get the lowest rates for my vehicle. Took a few thousand mile road trip for a week with one of their Buick Enclaves and it performed amazingly. Highly recommend this location for their customer service!

We did receive the car with only between 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gas and contract said we needed to return it full. We did not realize this till after a day later so did not mention it at the time and returned the car full. After mentioning it on return of vehicle the representative verified that it was not full with pictures at time of rental and reimbursed for the difference. Again very friendly and eager to please and very quick worker not a snail speed work like other places. Thanks Again! will come here next time we need to rent a vehicle.

Eric Hansen: Great experience from the staff here. Had a small issue with our rental plans and Susan was extremely helpful and compassionate. Highly recommended to choose the Hertz desk at this airport.
Audrey G: Good luck with cancelling your reservation! They hold your funds for the maximum amount of days allowed and then delete your canceled reservation so they can't find it. All the while holding your funds hostage and stating they cannot help you because they can't see canceled reservations. Leaving you to fight with your bank or financial institution for an explanation. This place is a joke!! Oh and forget about using a debit card! They will only allow you to pickup a rental with a debit card if you have a plane ticket. And then charge an astronomical deposit because of the type of plastic you're using. I will never recommend or return to this company!! And I will spread the word!

Emrys Williams: Renting with Hertz is always an easy process.The only thing I have to say about this recent rental is that the selection of vehicles were very limited, and the vehicle had visual front-end damage from an apparent accident.They were obviously aware because areas of the vehicle were marked with black sharpie marker "X" symbols.The front end steering had a vibrating noise coming fromaybe the hub or brake rotors.Normally, I would give hertz a 5 star, but with this experience, I will give a 4.I believe if the vehicle has obvious damage, it should be removed from service.It seems to be a possible danger to the renter.

Mary Grace Ellerbee: Beware of this company and the Grand Rapids airport office specifically. I rented a vehicle from Hertz to drive from Kalamazoo Airport to Grand Rapids Airport this past weekend. I was in town for work when I needed to emergency fly home for a funeral and the cheapest flights were out of Grand Rapids. Picked up the rental, drove and returned the vehicle 30 minutes early. Upon returning the keys and rental sleeve the car was NOT inspected (which I was unaware that was a thing to be done because it was my first time renting a vehicle), the desk clerk simply asked if I wanted a physical receipt, which I did. Received the digital and physical receipt confirming my total. A few days later the charge shows up on my credit card as $500 more than the total on my receipt. I call customer service and the agent tells me the return office noted ash and smoking residue in the car and charged me a $500 cleaning fee AFTER giving me my receipt, no notification. I have never smoked a day in my life and didn’t remember the car being in such a condition. Upon looking at my bank statement the pick up location was also listed incorrectly as Traverse City, when I picked up the car in Kalamazoo. I asked for the agent to explain how a charge could be added to my total after receiving the final receipt, to which she replied that that should not have been the case. But because the smoking note was in the file, they “couldn’t refund me.” I asked for the office’s number and could never get a hold of them.Started filing a dispute with my credit card company after that phone call, and one of the questions was if I recently rented with Hertz….hmmmm, coincidence? By the end of the day my credit card company was able to get me the money back. With the fee and incorrect City listed on my bank statement I am convinced they mixed up my car with another’s, because the other option is that they took advantage of my youthful appearance and intentionally defrauded me adding insult to injury to an already horrible situation I was going through. This is my first Google review because I have never felt so enraged about a situation enough to publicly write about it, but this crossed the line. This was my first time renting a car and I will not be using Hertz again, nor recommending them to anyone I know.

I had to go through a big hassle transferring funds to provide a credit card with the amount needed for the reserved rental because I didn't have proof of flight travel. Over all the experience was very nice.

Philip Todd: I reserved a full size truck several weeks in advance. When I flew in, the Enterprise at GRR did not have a full size truck available. When I questioned this, they suddenly had issues with my Corporate credit card not having my name on it. Reservation was made with this card and it was acceptable at that time. The customer service guy had no clue what he was doing. It took him 15 minutes to figure out the customers reservation that was in front of me in line. I ended up spending $145 on a taxi due to this. Now their computers are down so I can't even cancel the reservation to ensure that I am not charged for it. Very poor customer service. Very poor computer system.

As I was waiting in line, both of the associates manning the desk were very courteous and kept their cool while doing their job processing customers. I was impressed with Mary R., as she was consistently courteous and helpful regardless of who she worked with. There was a slight mixup because I had previously checked in my vehicle via the Enterprise app, so that made my reservation appear elsewhere in their system. If this happens to you, just let them know you checked in via the app. I rented a Dodge Ram 1500 and while it was sparsely equipped, it was in good condition and fit my needs. Returning my vehicle was a breeze—I simply parked and left my keys with the attendant on site. My bill came in via email promptly after. Highly recommend this Enterprise for your rental needs!

Between rude confused and confusing customer service representatives and the never ending run around on the phone, extra unnecessary charges being added,and constant waiting on hold just for every person to be absolutely un helpful. This service is terrible and way more a headache than anything else. People here are not caring or considerate. And after spending hours on the phone and having multiple customer service people hang up on us, ultimately whatever you do DO NOT rent from here , save yourself a bunch of money and stress.

I found the staff to be friendly, professional, and very enjoyable to work with upon check in. They gave me some great tips on where to visit and what to avoid, given that I was a visitor.The checkout process was also very easy. No issues, and everything was dealt with so quickly and accurately.This was all so easy! Honestly, it's rewarding to be a decent human being to others. That's all it takes. Don't believe all the negative reviews on here. It's unfair.

Nick Eastling: The vehicle i received was a 2022 camery, the car blew a tire the first day i rented it, the place that they have to change the tire had MANY bad reviews. It took them 4 hours to put 1 new tire on the rental car. So my first day of vacation was spent at the slowest tire repair shop in all of muskegon michigan. Then the entire time i was driving the car no matter my speed the back right of the car kept swaying to the right and i kept having to keep the car straight. So whoever rented this car before me didnt tell the company that they got into a wreck with it. I have all of the pictures of how it looked when i picked it up. All i have to say is that i dont think i will be renting from dollar car again. I do have to give it to them that they're services although took forever was spot on about making things right. They just need to pick better vehicle service places to be contracted to.
Michael Stratton: They have some kind of partnership with a toll services company (an industry that shouldn't even be legal) called "PlatePass". I didn't even know I was going through any of these lanes and would have rather payed with cash manually had I even known how to. The thing is, with highway 80 in Illinois, I think the PlatePass lanes were the only option! I would have no problem with "PlatePass" if it was actually a government/state operated way to pay tolls, but it's a private company that charges its own extravagant fee on top of the toll. How is it right for them to charge their own additional toll if this company literally does nothing to maintain the highways? Something's fishy about that, and I suspect consumer affairs agencies may eventually crack down on this "plate pass" company. Until then, I can only give Dollar Rental a one star rating for partnering with them.

Bonnie: CUSTOMER SERVCE BAD!!!! or should I say the company and how they train their employees as to handle concerns. I booked a reservation online weeks before pick up date. Due to the hurricane in Florida at the time I called 3 time before the pickup date 10.20.22 to verify that a car was available and confirming the charges. I WAS ASSURED THAT ALL WAS GOOD!! Then again, I called the night of the flight to let the the terminal know that the flight was going to be late. Plus to verify that a car was going to be available and and again to verified the charges. I was told no worries that a car was ready and the charges are correct. NOT!!!!! When my husband picked up the car there was an additional $494.40 added. the $250 for hold I understand. The other $244.40 was more taxes and fees. I was told I had to wait till the car was returned before I could dispute charges. I was told the fees were listed on the 2nd page of the fine print. I ask why wasn't they listed on the bill from online. Also, why wasn't I told each time that I called in. I WAS TOLD I SHOULD HAVE READ THE FINE PRINT. WITH ALL THERE LIES I DID NOT GET MY MONEY BACK. DO NOT RENT FROM DOLLAR.

Jared Fleming: What even is this place. Put a reservation a month in advance for a rental because the rates were good. Got a confirmation email. Called today, a week prior to picking up to confirm my reservation and their GRR number is not in service. Called the corporate number, also not in service, found a 3rd customer support number online and its not in service. Online portal didnt find my reservation with my confirmation number. Freaked out that my rental might not be real I was fortunately able to cancel through expedia. I am 100% sure this is just a cash farm to take money from people. The GRR rental car registry didnt even have them listed as an actual company. Stay the hell away. Was happy Enterprise actually has a phone number with humans who can tell me if I am getting a car.
Richard Claycomb: A total rip off car rental company! I was charged over $160 at the Grand Rapids, Michigan airport location in add on fees that were not listed when I pre-paid for my rental to get a lower daily rate.I was trapped into paying them because I was on vacation and had no choice otherwise except to walk. Pay up or no car rental. They charged me $103. for a "concession fee recovery", $54 for a "cust FAC charge" and $11.70 for a "Vehicle License cost recovery. "Crazy made up fees to rip off unsuspecting customers. When I called customer service when I got back, nobody in whatever foreign country Dollar has answering their calls could clearly explain what all the extra fees were about except to say over and over, "They were in you contract."And their website is NOT secure. I got an email supposedly from Dollar with my rental contract number on it saying I had damaged the wheel well. Who looks inside behind the tires when they take out a rental car?Plus I had paid for complete damage coverage when I picked up the car at the airport.When I called Dollar again, they told me they had no claim against the car and couldn't explain how the scam emailer got my reservation number.I'll never rent from Dollar Car Rental again. No wonder there was no line at their counter at the Grand Rapids airport while all the other rental car counters had lines at them.

Steve Arndt: I booked a vehicle through Expida and the bill was $760. $586 down and the balance due upon picking up the car. When I got there they asked me to insert my credit card for a security deposit, sure no problem. The one star is due the $460 bill I received to that credit card for things I was unaware of. At no point was there a document that broke down the charges and no verbal communication of the charges prior to signing. I called dollar rental and they said "you signed for it so there is nothing we can do to refund that money". What a joke... I then called Expida and they explained to me that this is the number one issue their customers have. They advised me to go to the car rental directly and book through them. I had a rental for 5 days and it cost $1236. It was a stock mustang convertible. Decently fun car for Florida but I would rather drive my own vehicle next time.

bigbyrd7777: Had last minute emergency trip come up and booked 'we pick it' rental. Easy process, cheapest rate, and ended up with SUV which was good because it started snowing. Easy pick up and return. Small SNAFU on billing as they billed my normal official travel card and not the personal card i handed them, but was able to call and remedy. Definitely not the worst Car rental experience that they other reviews imply.

Avis Car Rental: what do users think?
Collins Peter: Reserved a car when I got there this sign was on the door. About 45 minutes later a worker pulls up in a white SUV and went inside and still didn’t open the door. I called corporate they advised I go to the airport. I went and was in and out in less than 7 minutes. Do not go to this location it will be a complete waste of time! Staff has no empathy for customers that they can’t call and give a notice of what is transpired.
Matthew Brownell: I made a reservation and changed the pickup time to a later time that same day. When I showed up to pickup my rental they did not have my car there. The front desk lady was nice but told me there was nothing she could do since they had already rented my RESERVED car to someone else. Only reason my trip can still happen is because the Enterprise located conveniently next to them had a similar car that I could rent that same day. Talking to the workers there it sounds like this is an everyday occurrence at this Avis. If I could give a 0/5 stars I would but sadly I can’t. Don’t go here expecting anything besides frustration and disappointment.

My wife and I dropped our car off 45 minutes late after the worst country-wide snowstorm in 40 years, and were charged triple what we actually owed. The worst part is that we called ahead of time to let them know we would be arriving late because of the unsafe driving conditions and they told us that was no problem. We were able to arrive safely and dropped it off. We called back a few days later to sort it out and the owner of this location was extremely rude and unhelpful. Later, we called the corporate number and they were immediately able to issue the refund. Please rent from ANY other Avis than this location. Owner is rude, unhelpful, and clearly has no control or understanding of her own operations. Avoid working with her at all costs.

Nowhere on the page I reserved the car did it say I needed that. And I was paying for it upfront. Huge waste of time and made things very difficult for me.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO RENT A CAR FROM HERE. i have spent two days getting the proper qualifications and paying for extra nights at hotels in order to rent a car to return home only for her to come up with more qualifications she refused to tell me the first day. she's turned away more then just me other people in line as well. its almost like they don't want to rent their cars out. the worst part of all is she does it with a smile and attitude. highly unprofessional. we have all the money and identification needed and yet they still want pieces of mail to rent a car? were traveling out of town we only have pictures of mail and she gladly denied us without any help.

I was not notified on pick up that I would need my Spectrum Health ID badge to get a company discount because I already prepaid online with that employee discount code that only Spectrum Health employees have. I then had shown the employee my direct deposits in my bank account through Spectrum Health but that too was not enough. I then tried switching the reservation to my military boyfriend's name and it was going to be priced significantly more, even though his military discount was greater than my Spectrum discount. It was worth the $150.00 cancellation fee to walk across the street and rent from Enterprise.

Jevon Maddox: Shame on me for not reading reviews before coming here this Avis is the definition of BAD BUSINESS. If you must use this Avis book with a credit card otherwise they make you bring a bank statement for debit that MUST BE PRINTED but they won't tell you this before you get there. The lady here is apparently powerless because she couldn't help me with anything. Need to change your payment method? Cancel and change your reservation? Cancel your reservation? Nope. She can't do it. Go online or call customer service. Might as well have an automated system instead you'll save $ on labor. Also no guarantee you get the same car if you make a new reservation. After being on hold for 10 minutes then getting hung up on by customer service we just canceled. Oh, also NO REFUND IF YOU CANCEL ONLINE unless you call customer service and beg afterward. Just dishonest. Use the airport Avis instead if you must use Avis. This is not the only time I've had a bad experience with them I recommend using ANY OTHER rental car company. They lost my business.

I had to go online while I was in the store and try and make a reservation. Just to find out they had none available and they needed a bank statement!?!? Nope. Went to Hertz down the street and they checked me in no problem and gave me a free upgrade for the trouble I had here

D' SHAWN VANCE-JAMISON: I came in for a test drive. I called several times prior to confirm price and vehicle. The guy working never answered. I was set up for a 2 hour test drive and told I had to pay $387 on a credit card. Now, a 2 day rental requires $200 deposit, 3 days requires a $300 deposit. A test drive cost $387. After speaking with management, this was said to be not true. I was required to pay $200 deposit to test drive, refundable. And if I kept the vehicle 2 days. I would be charged accordingly. I wasted time, available sleep, and money on this trip. For nothing. The killer thing is the lady said they took debt cards, but I was told a Credit Card.Now, the vehicle may be gone or unavailable. Smh.

Adrian Alejandro: La verdad que no tuve ningún inconveniente tanto en la contratación como durante el uso del vehículo. Contratamos un SUV por 75 días, es bastante molesto tener que ir a renovar el contrato cada 30 días, más si estás a una hora del aeropuerto. Cuando fuimos cumplido el primer mes, le indicamos que una de las ruedas perdía un poco de presión, nos cambiaron a otro SUV de mayor categoría, nos dimos cuenta a mitad de camino de regreso a dónde estamos, que nos olvidamos algo dentro del vehículo que dejamos, al no tener un teléfono para llamar, mandamos correo electrónico indicando situación, por suerte respondieron rápido y cuando llegamos ya tenían lo que nos habíamos olvidado para devolvernos.La atención en el aeropuerto es excelente. Simpatia y buena predisposición.

Glen jandernoa: I rented a car from Alamo in Austin Texas. I left my glasses in the car. I tried calling the same day to get them back. Calling the number on the website was a waste of time. Phone would ring and ring. Day two it was answered only to be told no one could help me and they hung up. I did manage after some time to post my loss on the Enterprise site. Apparently Alamo is owned or managed by Enterprise. Supposedly I would get a confirmation email reporting my loss but it never happened!After this post Alamo automated system reached out. This only reinforced my disdain for them.
Susan Ek: I rented a vehicle from Alamo for one week for a fee of $510 picking up at Sanford Orlando Airport. Our return home flight got changed flying out of St. Pete/Clearwater Airport. I returned the vehicle to St. Pete airport and Alamo charged me an additional $1349.78 because I did not return it to Sanford. My total rental for 1 week ended up being $1859.78!! I think this is an absurd charge and will no longer be renting vehicles from Alamo!!
