I needed to go to Detroit for the weekend in preparation for my college graduation and at first something wasn’t working but she took her time and figured it out and I was able to get the rental and go home for my appointments and come back for graduation. She was really the glue to my entire weekend and the only thing I kept telling her was thank you because without her I would not been able to travel 2.5 hours to go back home for my appointments. She was very patient and didn’t rush. Thank You Cammie.
Elie Soukar: RENTERS BEWARE!If I could give this location less than one star, I would have done that. The cars are always old, dirty and with high mileage and the people that work there are rude and very unprofessional and especially the manager that I spoke to. I rent cars all of the times but this will be my last choice.I reserved a premium car and when I arrived to pick it up, they said that the only premium car available is a 2020 charger with very high miles and dents on the sides. I looked inside the car and it had stains all over the seats. Normally premium cars will have leather interior but this one was fabric and very dirty too.Beware of renting from this location. I asked for a different car and all what they had available is a couple of compact cars that will not work for me. Why would I pay and reserve Premium car and accept a compact car?

Alajia Cherry: Until recently, I have never had an issue with Enterprise vehicles. However, while driving my most recent rental, the transmission went out while I was exiting the highway. I barely had enough time to get to the side of the road before the car completely stopped. My 4 year old son was with me and we could have been in an serious accident. Although Enterprise sent a tow truck, they said because we were in "an unsafe location", they could not send an uber to take us to the nearest rental location. They told me to call local authorities to move us to "a safe location" so that they could then send the uber. I called 911, no one came, so the tow truck driver gave my son and I a ride to the nearest Enterprise which only 5 minutes away (my destination was 6 min away). After waiting 10-15 min at Enterprise, they gave me another car that had a weird smell in it and a mysterious stain in the trunk. This experience has put me off of Enterprise.

I booked a car and was notified after arriving that the car that I booked was no longer available, and I would have to pay more for a larger car and addition to paying more for a larger car, the car was filthy, and it was a dirty paper towel stuffed in the door secondly, the car also smell of cigarette smoke. I notified the employees of the dirty car and was met with disrespect. I highly recommend do not rent from this location.

Jill Zoet: I am so disgusted with this company!! My family reserved a truck one month early and we showed up yesterday only to find that they [nonchalantly] didn't have one there for us. They did however, give us one size bigger for the same price so we weren't too upset with that, other then the fact it made it a lot more difficult to drive to the place we were moving our items (downtown Madison, WI). Nonetheless, we were fine with it. Upon receiving the larger truck it was noted that their were two service lights on which were brought to the attention to the staff in which their response was "It'll be fine, we'll note it." So today, while sitting in standstill traffic in Chicago our truck dies on us. We manage to make it to a gas station in which we get a Budget service person there to confirm that the people who rented it before us put the wrong fuel in it. So we had to then wait for a new truck to get there, unload our belongings and be back on our way. We at this point would expect some sort of compensation or discounted rate for this experience. But we were followed up by NOT ONLY do we now have to wait until tomorrow for you to get a new truck to us, but you will refuse to give us the money back for the truck OR pay for lodging overnight. So here we are staying in the back of a broke down truck at a gas station in downtown Chicago! This complaint will be lodged with the BBB. I cannot believe the level of horrendous service-with absolutely no accountability!

Adrianne Adelle: Staff is INSANELY unhelpful and unfriendly. They keep their own times and when you put a pick up time they will refuse you because they are "closed". If you ask to speak to a manager they will refuse. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Marissa Rook: I would give negative stars if possible. Not only did they not have a car available for our reservation that we booked in advance, but we were the FOURTH person in less than an hour to not get a car.None of us got them, all of us were treated extremely rudely by the woman at the front desk. She was wildly unhelpful, offering no other solutions other than charging an additional 20% per day to “upgrade” to a van.Not only did she refuse to help, she refused to offer any other solutions, and then told me I had to leave and threatened to CALL THE COPS when I said to my husband “This is why they have a 2 star review.” WHAT? I told her “I’m stating a fact that anyone can see on the internet.” And she said “if you’re going to be negative, I’m going to call the cops.” WHAT? What customer service is that?Do not rent here. Don’t. I know Enterprise is like $30 more per day, but pay it. You will NOT get a car at Budget or Avis. They have no idea what they’re doing, what’s in stock, or anything. The people at Enterprise next door told us this happens ALL THE TIME and they constantly have customers that walk over BECAUSE they don’t get cars at Budget or Avis.Truly, I’ve had food poisoning more enjoyable than dealing with the staff at Budget on 28th St. Do NOT go here under any circumstances.
Mary Wetherby: Do NOT use this location! If I could, I'd rate this place zero stars. I've rented cars before, many times through the years, and this by far was the absolute worst. I rented a mid-size car and the piece of junk they tried to give me had cigarette burns on the upholstery, dash, and passenger door. It smelled awful, but the real deal breaker was the way the front end shook when driving down the road at 50 mph and higher. Then, as if that wasn't unsafe enough, the tires were bald. There was less than 1/4" of tread left on 3 of the tires and maybe 1/8" on the 4th. Unbelievable. I tried to return it but the sales lady was unhelpful and quite rude, telling me she had nothing for me, but I could drive to the airport to see if they had anything. Mind you, I'm driving my daughters and I through the mountains down to Savannah, Georgia the next day and I really need something safe, not the pile of garbage they tried to give me. Marty at the airport was unbelievably kind and gave me a fantastic, clean, and most importantly, SAFE vehicle. My girls and I had a wonderful spring break due partially to Marty's kindness. Do NOT go to the 28th Street Budget location, go to the airport. I wish I had...

When we arrived the worker wasn’t there and the facility was locked. No note or phone number. Because we had a conference to attend in Milwaukee, a pressing schedule, our friends then drove us to the airport Budget where we waited in line only to discover they wouldn’t honor the price quoted in the reservation and would charge us twice as much. Then a fellow customer, who happened to leave a note at this first place, received a call that the lady finally arrived. So our friends drove us back to the original place. When we expressed the inconvenience and the expectation that she would provide some compensation for our inconvenience, she rudely stated, “It was an honest mistake. I will not compensate you.” She proceeded to drag her feet in processing our reservation, and her rudeness culminated in telling my wife, “I’m through with you! I am not renting to you!” Unbelievable. I was shocked, and I’m still worked up thinking about this 4 months later. I’m sure this woman has been fired by now. She eventually honored our reservation and rented “to me, but not to [my] wife.” After that we were finished with Budget. You lost a customer, Budget. One lousy independent franchise has tarnished your name for all the others. I now rent from National.

Got to the office to pick up my car and the counter worker said i needed the card I used to pay the reservation. Gave her the card and she said no this isn't the right one. I told her it was the one I used. She ran it twice and then got "Locked out" of her system. Told me there was nothing she could do I would have to call customer service. I called and was on hold for 30 minutes until I hung up. I asked her to call customer service and said she can't. Zero customer service and zero care if I got my rental or not. Went to Enterprise and was out the door in 10 minutes. I will never rent from Budget again. Had isssues last year with the Alpine location and thought using another location woulld be better. Not. Told by 1 customer rep the refund would be 3-5 business days. Been 5 and now they are saying up to 14 days to refund.

That Michigan Guy: Rented a car for a week while my truck was being repaired from an accident. Everything went great. The manager is a really great guy and helped a ton. All the staff was professional. Highly recommend this place.
Alternate Reality: Manager of the store is amazing, spent over half an hour helping me get the lowest rates for my vehicle. Took a few thousand mile road trip for a week with one of their Buick Enclaves and it performed amazingly. Highly recommend this location for their customer service!

He and the front dark hair desk lady who worked on 4/20 were great! The younger girl that was working this morning (4/24) was very rude and seemed like she didnt want to be there. Yes, they were very busy but the attitude given by this worker when the manager stepped away astounding.Will definitely be back because of the quality and the great management!

Enterprise and my insurance agent handled the whole transaction. The negative this time was that even though the cr displays two "No Smoking" stickers on the dashboard, the previous renter must have been a heavy smoker. I could still smell the remnants of the smoke when I returned the car at the end of a 3 week rental.

Manager was supposed to contact me regarding this issue and never did. Never again! Very unprofessional, poorest management I've ever encountered (Ryan, and Tony). Craig Van Dyke: Made appointment for hitch install. Was there 20 minutes early to check in. Finally pulled my car in at 12:15 (15 minutes past my appointment time). I asked if they have a waiting area and was told no. I’m handicapped and can’t stand for long periods of time. They told me it would be at least 2 hours to finish the install. No chair was offered. They don’t care about people with disabilities because even employees park illegally in the handicap parking space. This was a terrible experience. Never again. I was not treated very well at this location. The sign posted on the entrance says how well they accommodate people with disabilities. Nope!

I am now handicapped and am stuck paying for this storage unit until I can find people to help me empty it, cuz I literally cannot access it. Even juyst the doors to access any part of the building aren't set up to allow access with a wheelchair. Seriously. Go to ANY other location

Bryce Singhurst: Terrible layout from parking your vehicle to leaving with a rental. This adds a lot of stress to the process. Small lakes of water accumulate with just a slight bit of rain. Location has some of the worst trucks I've seen from U-Haul. Don't give them a penny extra when refueling! A problem at the gas pump caused me to top off my rental (over $100) when it was due back at 1/4 tank. Location staff is amazing but told me they don't refund over fueling. I have been sitting for over an hour trying to resolve this with customer support via phone and chat. They continuously disconnect me without any assistance.
Kandace Lavender: Terrible customer service. We drove from Kalamazoo to get a hitch installed. The lack of communication over the phone as to why they were not able to install the hitch was frustrating to say the least. Then I went back into the store to get some clarification and the receptionist had a terrible attitude and didn’t want to go the extra mile to call the mechanic to the desk as she had NO idea and couldn’t give me clear information. Even after I told her we drove 50 minutes from home to come to that specific U-haul she still blew me off. Very disappointed in the lack of humanity at this location.

MM H: Great, professional staff!!So last month I rented a truck at a different location (truck-share type place down the street) and the truck needed a lot of attention. I saw this location and stopped in to see if they could help me. Three women came out and helped me get what I needed. They filled the truck with much needed oil, swept out the broken glass and debris left by others, cleaned the cab and kept apologizing for OTHER people's lack of responsibility. Accolades are due the manager KaZya and her team. Thank you and I will recommend this place to others!
Kevin: Tried 2 times to get propane refills. The first time the store was busy so I understood. The second time I waited for 15 minutes with no help, went inside and the store was empty. I watched 2 employees enter the store while I was waiting for help, I had to holler into the back for someone to come out. When they did, they were perturbed and asked what I wanted. I asked if they were filling propane today and the employee responded they were and for me.to go around back, ring the bell again and wait for someone and they would help me when they can. I asked how long and was told 15-20 minuets. It is important to note, the employee was obviously irritated I wanted help and was very short with me.There were multiple employees on site, no customers in the store and they couldn't help me for 20 minutes, ridiculous. I will never return to this location again.
Eugene Manin: I've been here on two occasions, once for a truck rental and once for propane. For rentals, check online for availability ahead of time before coming in. For propane, you've gotta go between 12pm-6pm. Very nice people provided efficient service both times.
Rick Rolf: I had an appointment on 6/11/21 at 2:30PM at U-Haul on 28th St SE, east of Centerpointe Mall, for a bike rack hitch to be installed. They said it would take 30 minutes. They didn’t pull our vehicle in until 5:30PM, 3 hours later. Then the U-Haul installer told me he couldn’t do the installation because it was too rusty underneath. Today, 6/14/21, I took our vehicle to JW Hitch in Jenison. The business owner looked underneath our vehicle said it looked in good shape. We scheduled an installation date for 2 1/2 weeks out, because he’s so busy. Lesson learned: Read the reviews BEFORE you go there. U-Hauls reviews aren’t very good for a reason. JW Hitch in Jenison has very good reviews.

Beverly Mapes: Propane fill up is unreliable. They do not have set hours and shut it down for the night when its convenient for them. Or when they don't have certified people to do it. You cannot reach them directly to call before coming. Phone rings to their central call center only. Very frustrating the number of times I've driven here to get propane filled into my rv and leave with no propane. Will be looking someplace else.

Had a truck reserved for moving, and the morning of I got a call as soon as they opened from John, the owner of this location, letting me know that a return was running late and wouldn't have one scheduled back until an hour after my scheduled time. He also offered alternatives with pricing, and was a great help to make sure I was informed enough and confirm that the truck was the best choice for the task and the price. I've had to rent from different locations half a dozen times or so, but this was easily the best customer service that I didn't expect to get. I had no idea that these locations were franchised so if you want to support a team that'll support you, this is the location you want to rent from.
