Kate Bek: Awful. I don't typically write negative reviews, but wanted to warn others that this company should be avoided at all costs. It's currently operating as the Jewelry Express kiosk in Woodland Mall. I needed a very simple repair to a broken gold chain, and the local jewelers couldn't turn it around that quickly. I assumed they would link the rings together, but they simply soldered it without advising me. It's ruined. Do not bring your jewelry here.

Kenn Hildebrand: Needed a new battery for a Citizen's Eco-drive watch. First battery needed in the 20 years I've owned the timepiece. Waited a week while they ordered one, for which I paid $80 (eighty dollars.) Now, less than three months later, the battery has died. I won't be going back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing was ruined by this outfit. I've written Citizen for an authorized repair facility.

I’m floored at this point, I cannot believe that this guy I have been chatting with for so long is none other than one of the owners (3rd generation jewellers!).If you haven’t been to this store and you are local or even just passing through you owe it to yourself to get to know Dan and his staff.Amazing experience, I will 100% be back to actually pick something up for myself or my wife. These are the kinds of people that you build a lifelong relationship with.PS: I almost missed my flight, I was enjoying the conversation so much, but it would have been worth it even if I had to catch a later one!

Alex Dombrowski: I recently visited to verify authenticity of my absolute favorite watch. I was greeted immediately and offered refreshments with a very short wait to meet with David. Met with David and the entire experience was first class. You can really tell that he loves and appreciates the brand. I felt bad about taking up so much of his time but he spent time going over the functions of my new timepiece as well as the history/heritage. Very thorough from the operation of the crown, setting the date and time, features of the clasp, etc. We spoke about what these types of timepieces mean and discussed how individual customers preferences are when it comes to the function, dial, complications, weight, and overall feel of the timepieces. This was the most time that I have ever spent in a jewelry store and I didn't even buy anything. You can just tell that they really enjoy what they do, and that they have the same passion for the timepieces that the customers do. I was able to view and try on some of the samples that they have in order to get a feel for the weight, the movements, the clasps, and really judge how the timepieces look on the wrist which I think is vital. I cannot describe with enough detail what a wonderful customer experience this was. 100% 5 stars. I am sure that in the near future myself and my family will have something that we wish to celebrate with a once in a lifetime purchase and I am sure it will be from Paul Medawar Fine Jewelry.*****Update....I love this place. Customer service is always 110%.Recently spent time in store with world class 5-star treatment even though I hadn't purchased anything. During that visit I spent a couple of hours in-store checking out brands and really taking a nice tour of different timepieces.I had my eye on a timepiece from that visit, and decided to return to kick the tires and see if my first impression was correct. The buying experience was phenomenal. I really love these particular timepieces and I am so glad that I bought from Paul Medawar. I was able to take the timepiece I was interested in and see it next to other types of the similar brands models and that was not only fun but it made me feel good about my particular selection.So much of my interaction with the timepieces that I am now interested in is not done justice by looking at a brochure or a magazine or a website. The tactile experience of the weight, the material, the gloss, the details on the dial or the turning of the bezel is not something you can ever imagine until you are actually experiencing it first hand. I'm actually a little bit intrigued that certain models I thought I might now ever be interested in are now at the top of my list, while others that I always knew I would love are now even more important for me to hopefully have the opportunity to purchase in the future.This time I worked with Dan and he was just as delightful to do business with as his brother David. Tom Vandermeer: They work for the insurance industry and won't give you a broke down qoute that tells you all the steps that are taken to get a ring finished from start to finished product. It's always a about cost so they can collect the rest from the insurance company. Other jeweler gave us a step by step quoute. Very disappointed that this happens to paying customers.

Max Rispler: It’s taken me a while to contemplate writing this review. I never enjoy writing negative things, but I also believe people should hear my story. I feel very mistreated and inappropriately shamed by the staff at Preusser Jewelers. This was my second purchase at the store back in the Spring of 2021. I had been in a long term relationship and was ready to take the next step. It took me a few weeks to come up with right setting and stone, but I landed on an emerald cut diamond ring at Preusser Jewelers. After paying for the ring, I had the store keep it safe before getting engaged. Long story short, the relationship fell apart in June of 2021, and I was now stuck with what to do. First off, I had to try to haggle with the staff to figure out the price to sell my ring on consignment. They never offered to work with me and take the ring back since it was already in its setting. I later found out from other jewelers that they could have done that. After a few months of the ring not moving on consignment, I decided to take it to another jeweler. When I went to pick up the ring that I paid for, the last thing that was said to me as I was walking out the door was “Maybe next time you should be a little more picky.” That was referring to my previous relationship that I was already mentally damaged from. Very disappointed in the treatment by their staff and understanding of the situation. I do not recommend shopping here.

I have had a beautiful medical bracelet made with engraving on the back and now am going to call to see about getting a medical necklace done. :) They have incredible patience and class and are never pushy. They help you pick out what is in your best interest too. When I think of Preusser, I think of the "class" of downtown Grand Rapids. Need I say more?

Unknown Unknown: I would not recommend this place for an appraisal. I wanted to get my grandma’s ring appraised and resized so that I could wear it. This was the first jeweler I went to. The short, dark haired lady told me that my ring was white sapphires and had a large synthetic dark red stone. She then went to her manager to ask for his/her opinion, which she came back and said her manager agreed with her appraisal. I went to two different jewelers after this because it did not sit right with me, both jewelers after this told me it was a garnet center stone with diamonds around the outside. Will not ever be going back to Preusser or recommend it to anyone.

Adam S: I have a background in design, so naturally I wanted to design the wedding rings for my upcoming wedding. After describing our design ideas to a few jewelers around Grand Rapids, we were pointed to Metal Art Studio. "They work with more organic concepts" we were told.Carol and Scott have been amazing through the creation of our rings. In our initial meeting, we told them our budget and they laid out the process and told us what it would cost to fully develop our rings from scratch. We decided on a pebble concept after seeing a ring that Scott, who is the main jeweler and owner, had created for retail sale. After getting our initial design drawings, he cleaned them up and drew options to scale for our review.We chose an option, suggested minor revisions and then finalized the design. We were even able to select which diamonds we wanted through their supplier's online diamond portal. After we made down payments, Carol and Amy, who handle the customer service side of Metal Art, gave us a timeline of 6 to 8 weeks. They not only delivered on time well ahead of our wedding, but my fiancé's ring was completed under budget! 👍🏻🤑 Now I can't wait to see my ring!
