Tim Spitler: For years I had tried just about everything to get rid of the pain I had from an Intermetatarsal Neuroma (Morton's). Different shoes, exercises, insoles, pads, separators, acupuncture, etc... Nothing worked. I had just about resigned myself to surgery and a lifetime of a numb foot, but gave Foot Solutions a try at my dad's urging. I am SO glad I did! Not 24 hours later, and my feet haven't felt this good in years. I was up on my feet late into the evening working (something that would cause immense pain prior), and woke up the next day with barely any pain at all. A drastic improvement would be an understatement. GREAT guys, took the time to educate me on the problem and the correct solution. Walked out the door with a set of molded supports and a pair of sandals. Made a customer for life, that is certain!

Lance Roberts: I made a 3 1/2 hour drive to this location in need of desperate help for my feet. I was greeted and felt welcomed as we discussed my situation. I was given a pair of orthotics to try out in the store, so I wore them around for almost an hour to get a feel and finally purchased them with no pressure or obligation to buy. Today is a couple days shy of having them 2 weeks and so far a big improvement. I stand on a hard floor at work for 10-12 hours a day and it has helped alot so far. I still have some pains and swelling but at least I can walk without limping or being in tears from the pain. I'm sure as time goes by, my feet will adjust more and more. I can't thank enough

However, my feet are size 10 1/2 and because they only had an 11 I was given the 11 with an insert to make it a 10 1/2. Not! The shoes are about 3/4 to 1 inch longer than the 10 1/2 that I purchased elsewhere. I was always tripping and catching my feet on things. I have only worn them about 15 to 20 times and just can't get comfortable with them. Anyone need a lightly used pair of Brooks Addiction Black at a real low price?

H J: I would not recommend ordering from here because their customer service in their main office is unorganized and very unprofessional. I've spoke with 3 people at TradeHome Shoes including Summer and Josh and I've been told contradictory things every time I've called.First, I ordered a pair of shoes in the mall and they sent the wrong size (nbd let's fix it) then the replacement pair they sent out were damaged (double bummer but still willing to see if we can fix this) I spoke to them multiple times they were going to send out a return label and another pair but never did. When I finally contacted them again Josh mentioned that he thinks that they were "uncomfortable" sending me another pair but Summer and another employee both told me that they were not in stock. He then proceeded to guilt trip me... telling me that it was unfortunate for Summer since she had to drive 20 minutes to pick up the (damaged) replacement pair in the size that should have been shipped originally. I'm not sure why he brought that up, I guess I should have felt like I was receiving a favor by trying to get the correct size that I ordered. He did absolutely nothing to help the situation, purposely misunderstood what I said and even tried to gaslight me. I'm not sure what his position is but it seems pretty obsolete unless the point is to piss people off and lose customers.

Everything my wife tried on she'd stated how great they looked on her, she had pair of those boots, or suggesting a much high priced item. Even when she brought out an incorrect size (didn't have her size), she tried to explain why they needed to be so much bigger and to purchase them. Too pushy! My wife found the same boots online, cheaper, and in her size.

It's a quiet building with shoes and boots lining the walls. There is also a corner filled with Smartwool socks of all kinds as well as insoles. They have a good selection of women's, men's, and kids footwear.Ethan was the associate who helped me out. He seemed very knowledgeable about the boots I was asking about and helped me find a good quality pair that fit just right.I left happy with two pairs of new socks and a new pair of Teva boots for work! Great place with great products, and a great staff.

Michelle Claybaugh: Bought New Balance shoes that the inserts come out of. I have plantar fasciitis and needed to put my own inserts in. I was told only shoe stores like Mieras could sell shoes where the inserts come out. I have found them since then, for half the price, at JC Penny's, Famous Footwear and Kohls. At the same time I purchased sandals for a pretty penny. I bought them in August right before school started. They hurt my feet. I wore them once. I just tried to return them. They refused to take them back. They were expensive and the gentleman said I could donate them and he would give me half off a pair of shoes, if I wanted to buy a new pair of shoes. I told him I didn't come in to spend money. I came to return shoes that were expensive and hurt my feet. He also said they couldn't take sandals back in the winter. I won't spend that kind of money on shoes again, or buy from Mieras Family Shoes.

La Chynah Boricua: Customer Service has drastically changed. We've been customers for many years now through the Steelcase program and today was so disappointed with how we were treated. Young blonde girl refused to look up work shoes and at one point said they were discontinued and wouldn't even call the other store. I told her they were on the website and she said if she ordered them there would be a delay because of back orders. I could tell she didn't want to help us so I told her we would just have to drive down to the store at 44th st. We went to the store on 44th st and the lady there was so sweet and helpful and guess what they did have the shoes and are not discontinued as stated at the Leonard st store. Lisa Rich: I cannot talk highly enough about the service I just received from Lance. My 2.5yr old daughter fractured high up on her arm and needed an immobilizer sling. After a frustrating day of communication between Devos childrens hospital and her pediatrician (who we can’t fault!), Lance customized a sling to fit her and serve the purpose needed, all without an appointment and on a Friday afternoon! After enquiring what size I’d need should I want to buy a second (let’s face it, toddlers are messy) he sourced one at Devos, drove and picked it up and brought it back, fitted it all while we waited. He definitely didn’t have to do that! He could have just told me where to get one on Amazon and I’d have been happy. It meant so much to me that he went above and beyond for me and my daughter. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The service, the friendly reception staff and the Lances’ orthotist skills are second to none. Thank you for being an awesome human, Lance!

Phil Leon: I had heard about this place from someone who was a pateint of the guy who runs it. My mom is 93 years old and lost her leg at the hip to cancer when she was in her 70s. She uses a wheelchair but I figured with all this "bionic" stuff availalbe maybe she could get a fake leg, so I just stopped by to ask some questions.First,the place is not much to look at. I mean its clean and not terrible, but it doesn't seem like a medical facility. Still the guy in charge there couldn't have been nicer. Mom didn't want to come but he still spent a ton of time listening to me explain her situation. Then he gave me about 10 different options with pluses and minuses for each one. It turns out he's missing a leg himself and I think he said he taught doctors about legs and braces at some university. He was very knowledgable and helpful. On top of that, he didn't even charge for his time..I talked to my mom about seeing him but she doesn't want to try getting a leg again at her age. So since the poor guy put in all that effort for me for nothing, I thought the least I could do was give the place a good review. If you need a leg, brace, or just information, drop in and they will give you lots of free information.

Deborah Dabbous: Walking in there is no decor or professionalism what so ever. It’s fine, it matched the greeting I got from the receptionist. Oh wait they didn’t have one of those either. I had a lot of time, 6-7 minutes of no human contact,when I walked in the door and waited for the one employee to finish his call and then still not look up and acknowledge me. It’s fine, I announced myself and rather than ask what I could be helped with I prompted the q&a. Told him I had a call to pick up a splint. Quietly he stood and looked confused. At this point I knew he knew nothing of my order; but at that point he should have asked my name ans date of birth to figure it out. I had to tell him I got a call telling me to come in and pick up my splint between 10-6. He still said nothing and asked nothing. I at this point I am 10 minutes in the office and had 0 things accomplished aside from knowing more than he did. I left. Don’t go there. Use popsicle sticks and tape if you need a splint from there!

Nancy Ayers: I had a great experience with VanHoeks Shoes today. I took my 93 year old father there looking for replacement athletic shoes. My Dad was convinced he was a size 12, the sales person measured his feet and said he was wearing shoes 1.5 sizes too long! He needed WW to accommodate the various toe issues.The New Balance shoes are more stable ( used by a local rehab facility) and will help him walk more confidently. I saw a difference immediately. Stu Cole: I needed a pair of shoes for work. I have an extra wide foot. I went to VanHoecks for two distinct reasons.1. The website said they carried an inventory of wide sizes2. I wanted the assistance of a professional.I walked into the store. I let the gentleman know I was looking for a pair of brown shoes for work which would be comfortable for walking. He measured my feet. Came out with a pair of Dunhams. Left foot fit perfect. Right foot was digging into my Achilles tendon a tad. He took them in the back and made an adjustment. Tried them on again. Fit perfect. Paid for said shoes and left.I couldn't have been in the store 15 minutes. If I would have gone to Walmart, Meijer, Shoe Carnival, etc., I could have saved a couple of bucks. But I would have been in the store 45 minutes or more, possibly had to go to a different store to find extra wide, and no adjustments made so I'd be walking around at work with uncomfortable shoes.So glad I went here and worked with a courteous professional. Would definitely recommend this place.

I even came back with a shoe and they adjusted the shoe for comfort. Personal service with long-time fit experts. If you have difficult feet and need personal service, I highly recommend them.

Mike Rundhaug: Extremely poor customer service at VanHoeks Footwear. Unfortunately, this is not a store I would ever recommend visiting due to the fact that the customer service is horrible. Last Friday afternoon, October 20th, I sent my 70 year old mom here to get shoes because she has a wide width and has a hard time finding shoes. The store employee first told her she had orthotics from hell, because they were thick. These orthotics were purchased from a local business who supplies orthotics for sports teams all over the United States. My mom also said she wanted "stylish shoes" and not something that looks like an old lady and was told "you have to come to grip with the fact that you can either have comfort or style but not but you can't have style AND orthotics. The only shoes that this store carries are dated and old lady looking shoes. As someone who supports local business and appreciates companies that provide excellent customer service I was extremely disappointed to hear how they treat a new customer. My parents were both so disappointed in this experience that they proceeded to tell me the whole story and I felt it was worth sharing with others. The store employee also told them "you'll be back because we are the ONLY story in Grand Rapids that sells wide shoes". I can assure you, this will never happen because my mom will just purchase shoes online.

Tom Kasprzak: I just picked up my extra pair of custom orthotics today. Biocorrect does such a good job and the staff is wonderful! I was in so much pain before my first pair and the orthotics have made such a difference. I finally decided to get a 2nd pair for my two most-used pairs of shoes. Brian Picardat: I have been using Biocorrect for my custom orthotics since 2015 I believe. I picked up my 7 pair today.They have been a life saver for me. I say that sincerely because when I first went to them, I was having lower back pain and my doctor advised me to stop running. Since getting my first pair of orthotics, I have been able to run again and just finished my 18th Marathon and 8th state with a new goal to run a marathon in every state. B Brandstadt: I have been a patient at Biocorrect since 2007. I was a long-distance runner and had developed chronic plantar fasciitis that essentially ended my running and racing endeavors. I had seen several different podiatrists in the Grand Rapids area that prescribed heel cups and different types of orthotics and had spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars with no progress and absolutely zero pain relief!! I had gotten to a point where I was crawling around my house at times from the excruciating pain in my heel and arch of my foot. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Biocorrect to ANYONE seeking help with chronic injuries or chronic pain!!!!! I had lost faith that I would ever be pain-free again or be able to run, train for triathlons or participate in races!!! Thanks to the staff at Biocorrect, I have had no issues with plantar fasciitis for the past 15 years!!

My old pair was very worn and my knee pain was starting to come back. I was connected to Biocorrect by Armour PT in Kalamazoo.I utilized the Biocorrect mail-in service which was extremely easy and convinient - I did an assesment and foot impression at Armour PT and they sent the info to Biocorrect, who handled the rest. After recieving the new insoles via mail a week later, Bioccorrect even took the insoles back right away to rework the size/shape to fit all of my shoes - which I did in person at Biocorrect to ensure best size/fit results.Biocorrect communicated every step of the process very clearly, even taking the time to explain the improvements they made to my insoles compared to my old ones, how to properly break-in the new insoles, and even how the biling and insurance adjustments would work.I was able to break-in the insoles within a week, running a 5k and playing in two full soccer games shortly after.
