?: Had a very hard time with United Bank. A continuous problem with this bank is getting locked out of our bank accounts for online banking. Good luck trying to get back into our accounts by getting them unlocked. Their accounts specialist by the name of Sarah Gilman did nothing to help us other than to tell us to do the same thing we have done for multiple days. She refused to manually reset our password. Tried calling the bank manager Joe Manica with no luck either. I would not recommend United Bank to anyone as a primary bank.

Patrick McLeland: If there was less than a star I would give it. Like most people, I like to think of myself as a savvy guy financially. I do my best to keep up with taxes, manage money effectively, and take the right precautions to protect my assets. Unfortunately, as citizens we have to work with financial institutions that historically and presently are incompetent when it comes to their primary business, managing and storing people's money.United Bank is chief among incompetent financial institutions, and here is why. (1) They moved my assets from my account without permission, (2) they gave those assets to an unknown to me financial institution, (3) In trying to have my fun released to me, I was given wrong information and only emailed that the information was incorrect, and (4) When I was able to loginto there backwoods level, inception email protal, I was told that the new document that I had to fill out because I was given the wrong information could not be processed because I submitted it on the date it was due.Hmmmm, so we have United Bank, a floundering financial institution, NOT taking responsibility for their actions, they misled their client, and they use technology from the late 90's. Does this sound like an institution that will keep your assets protected? Do you really want to give your hard earned money to a pace that will so easily dissolve your assets and chuck them to another company without consent?I don't know about you, but I have seen children manage money better than United Bank. Do yourself a favor and go to any other bank besides United Bank. They will only disappoint you, and make your financial life more difficult.*My comments are based my personal experience, and are opinions. Nick Postma: App doesn't work, online banking doesn't work, and now ATMs are down at every location. Their customer service has been worse than useless and just waste my time. In disbelief by the lying and incompetence.
Zachariah VanderWerf: I am really frustrated. This is the 2nd time I have been on my way home at approximately 2am in the morning and my United bank card has failed to work. I need my card so I can pay to fill up my gas tank. I contacted United bank over the phone, which took forever, just so they could tell me they are doing updates and I can try my card at 3am. In the meantime I'm stranded at a Speedway gas station waiting until my card can function again.

negative creep: I'm in town from Philly and I needed to exchange a $100 bill for two $50 bills as late high school / college graduation gifts. I tried PNC Bank first, but they were unable to assist me because "I'm not their customer." The teller directed me to Old National Bank, which was just a few doors down. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by Ryan, who was happy to help me with my request ... even though I'm not a customer! I was so impressed with Ryan's friendliness, genuine warmth, and eagerness to assist an out-of-towner. Now THAT'S how customer service should be. Thank you, Ryan, and thank you Old National Bank!
jeff martin: The downtown Grand Rapids team has provided me with exceptional service. They greet me by name when I visit them and respond quickly to my phone calls and emails which enables me to better utilize ONB’s on line banking service (which I use a lot). I feel like it's my “local” bank.

I was worried about the changes that might happen when the transaction was taking place because I loved Founders Bank & Trust. I am glad to say that I have been 100% happy with my downtown branch. Marcia Overmyer: I have had nothing but excellent service with this bank. From tellers, to the manager. They explain everything and advise you to a route to go that is better. There Fraud Division is fantastic! Nothing but praises for them. I have had bad experiences with other local banks that advised me on saving and screwed me royally (Huntington).
Backyard Guy: Inconvenient hours for anyone working 1st shift. No mobile deposit for long time members. No restroom for their clients. Friendly staff, though. Also, interest rate is not competitive.
James Kok: I have always found them very helpful and friendly. They handled some confusing issues well. When they didn't know the answer to a problem they consulted with knowledgeable people who did.I found that their professional approach worth a little bit of extra time.

Jonathan Seely: I've been a Flagstar customer and have watched them go downhill for the past 12+ years. Most recent negative experience was at this branch where a half hour before close, there were 0 tellers working (not terribly uncommon here) and two personal bankers handling both the drive thru and the lobby. One banker was involved in a long difficult situation with another customer, while the other seemed to dragging out a transaction with another with lots of small talk. I am fine for being friendly, but all I wanted was to withdraw some money from my checking, and I stood waiting from 4:21 pm to 4:45 pm before anyone assisted me. There was also a customer at the drive-thru who was clearly as frustrated as I was, as he wasn't even acknowledged by the staff. There was no reason the staff couldn't have interrupted what they were doing to find out what I (and the customer in the drive thru needed) and taken less than 5 minutes to handle our transactions before finishing up with the other customers.Anyway, I waited long enough and have gotten bad enough service over the past few years that I decided to go ahead and close both of my accounts, which the staff did without even asking why. Honestly, had I not had 30 minutes to stand and think about it, I probably would have left them open.

Julianna Katerberg: I would not recommend using Old Time National if you are a first time home buyer. Our loan officer Dan Cooper seemed to not care very much about our process and would frequently drop the ball on things. He had to be provided with my husbands email address not once, not twice, not 3 times, but 4 times before he got it correct. He sent emails to the incorrect address multiple times including the link to access our secure online portal. I emailed Dan with the correct email address and was waiting to have my husband be able to get the email to access the portal, and he emailed me saying he needs us to complete these items asap.I had to call him and give him the correct address again. He was not very good at explaining things nor was he very good with getting back to us in a timely manner. Despite his lack of communication, he would pressure us to do things immediately despite us not fully understanding what was needed. He was supposed to supply us with documents to have third parties sign, and he failed to do this despite saying he would. This further delayed our loan application. Everything felt like it was being done very last minute despite being weeks in the making. Dan seemed to have us on the back burner and always seemed to busy for us. Would not recommend for first time buyers especially.

LAB Major: I had to have all my accounts closed and new ones opened due to a lock that was placed on all my accounts after a fraudulent transaction was posted to my checking account. The branch was very helpful in finding out what was going on because I had not been notified that there was a lock placed on my accounts. The new accounts were set up very efficiently by the branch and manually made a transfer that had been rejected so that I did not ru into any financial difficulties. I appreciated all the help.

MEGAN’S Sister: Don’t go to the tellers for close out a loan. They will do it and it may or may not be paid off and closed out. Then it won’t get fixed and the loan person will basically tell you it’s your fault that the loan didn’t close properly because tellers shouldn’t be doing it. Couldn’t tell me why I owed $38 after “closing it out” either. I’m good. Closing my account.

How scary that I know someone account balance without ever having to add a password. I would NEVER open account with such a careless bank. Be very careful, I know personal information that the are sending via email. I did speak to 1 person and told him and he transferred me and I was put on hold until the message timed out. HOW CAN YOU NOT TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY! So there is a person who knows this is happening and clearly doesn't care!
