konwree b: I got my braces on in January 2018 and I got them off today! I could not be more excited to show them off. Every single one of the staff members are knowledgeable, super sweet and they always answered any questions I had. Whenever I was concerned about how certain areas of my teeth were going to turn out, Dr. Ward explained to me what was happening and what was going to happen, and always reminded me that if I wasn’t liking something, to let him know, so he could address it. The appointments were always around 20 minutes, which was very helpful because I was usually coming from work and had to go back after. Literally any time I went, I was called back almost immediately, my appointments always started on time. I rarely had to reschedule my appointments, but when I did, the ladies working the front desk were so helpful. They also have a rewards/points system where you earn points for taking care of your teeth properly, not missing appointments, etc, which I thought was really cool. I appreciate Dr. Ward for following the guidelines created for Covid, I felt like they cared about patient’s safety and they always wore their extra protective gear. I would definitely recommend you get your braces or invisalign from here!

Trust me when I say my teeth were a mess with how crooked they were!I have never met a Dr. who cares not just about you but about how well he can do his work. He is a perfectionist!! The root canal they performed still hurts as does the filling on the other side. They lost my file during the process and had to reorder items. It was a very uncomfortable experience.

Brian Holland: I used this dentist for about 10 years. The front desk did a good job. The hygienists are friendly and mixed skill levels but seem a bit rushed. The real issue is the dentists. The dentists are low on experience and leave as soon as they build a little experience. I had about 5 dentists, so each lasted about 2 years. In the end, I left because the new dentist lacked the needed skill and pushed me to crown 2 teeth that didn’t need it. My wife was smarter and got a 2nd opinion avoiding the unnecessary dental work. The needed skill part I described earlier refers to several parts of my crown. The temporary fell off while eating soup. I asked them about putting it back on and they said it was not necessary. My gums were so inflamed by the time the crown was ready, the crown wouldn’t fit. They smashed it on anyway, trapping part of my gums in the bond line. They was painful for 6 months until the crown fell off. Also the crown never fit right. They tried for 2 hours the first day and 45 minutes the 2nd attempt but couldn’t get my bite right.

They have been great to work scheduling appointments around my work schedule, and they typically run on time as well. They were quick to squeeze me in if I had any minor issues between appointments. My treatment plan included a major jaw surgery, and they had great communication with my oral surgeon, saw me soon after surgery to check in on everything, and even sent me flowers when I was recovering. I couldn’t recommend this whole team more - each person involved in my care has been friendly, professional, and caring. From the front desk staff, to the amazing team of techs, and especially Dr. Burkhardt, I have been lucky to be a patient in this practice. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

K S: I have had two experiences with this office one 5 years ago and one today.5 years ago I was told if I wouldn't get braces then my teeth would pretty much start falling out then I moved out of the area. I came back and for a consultation today (or so I thought) and 5 years later my teeth are still all intact too!Dr. Burkhardt spent about 5 actual minutes talking to me and told me that he had a patient with his mouth wide open waiting for him so I would have to schedule a full consult.. wait what? I was told this was a consultation when I scheduled, so I'm not even sure why I was scheduled today. I was also told by him that he couldn't give me a better opinion until he had photos that would cost me $65. So this office charges $65 for photos taken with a $200 camera that I could take at home.I'm not sure how this office has so many 5 star reviews. Dr Burkhardt seemed to not want to waste his time with me today since I said I might be moving out of the area and they wouldn't get my full treatment plan cost. This office seems like it doesn't actually care about the health of their patients but their money instead.

Olivia Davis: I was a patient of Dr. Peters about eight years ago. At the age of 25, I now have braces again for the second time, and am still dealing with TMJ issues that were never fully fixed.My braces were on for 4 LONG years with Dr. Peters. After my braces came off, there was a substantial amount of recession on my lower gum line caused by moving my bottom teeth forward too quickly. This resulted in needing to have a gingival graft to correct this issue. This is where they take tissue from the roof of your month and attach it to the lower gum line. Trust me, it wasn’t fun. Did I mention I had braces for 4 years? How was this not paced out more appropriately?! I have no idea.Almost a year ago, I noticed my bite started to seem different than it was after my braces were initially taken off. I confirmed this with my dentist and after taking x-rays, he confirmed an abnormal amount of wear on my anterior teeth caused by an improper bite. My DDS told me that my teeth were only moved so much at the time to correct my bite, that this movement was probably inevitable.I decided to get the opinion of another dentist and orthodontist. Even though I didn’t have any old molds of my mouth to show them, they determined my previous orthodontic work was never fully completed especially since I continued to have TMJ issues after the braces came off.As for the actual office experience. His staff was okay, some of his assistants were better than others. However, they were the ones doing most of the work. I know this is normal in orthodontics, however, I almost wonder if they were doing too much and if this didn’t cause some of the problems. I can’t confirm if he was as thorough in checking their work as he needed to be. Not to mention his office hours were not convenient to a middle/high school student especially with a working parent.Since I was tired of the discomfort and don’t want to have stubs as teeth in a matter of years, I am going through this all over again, not with Peters. I know all orthodontic cases are different and sometimes things like this happen, but I never had a positive experience anytime I stepped into his office. Plus his arrogance made him difficult to communicate with. I would not recommend him. Being in my twenties, I have more expenses and plenty of things I would prefer to be spending money on than paying thousands of dollars having his work redone.

Guest Teacher-01: Needed a crown replaced on back molar as last one on there had come off twice in 6 months time(different dentist) !! Dr Mark is very knowledgeable and prepared, he is very professional and you can tell he loves the dental challenges! He resolved my crown issue and was meticulous in applying the new one for a permanent and perfect fit! Great guy and easy to chat with along the way….wish I’d have found him sooner when my long time dentist retired 4 yrs ago !!!!

So please put your book/phone down and read this whole review.Today was the first time my kids 5 years old and 14 years old visited DeWitts office. We moved to Lansing recently and honestly I was looking on google for a dentist with good reviews that is close to our home. Even with google reviews that are great, I still am always nervous when it comes to new anything DDS, doctors, schools, etc. for my boys. Even though when I made their appointments they were kind of over a month out, witch made me think that he is good and busy, that is why. When we arrived at the office my boys said that the waiting room is so comfortable like a home not a regular doctor, witch was very true very cozy environment. Another thing my oldest noticed, in 14 years no matter how many times I have told someone how to pronounce his name, no one ever said it right the first time, but all the staff at DeWitts office have today for the very first time, another reason to like this place, this means they truly care.(the name, that is moms fault for naming my son a foreign name with wrong English spelling). When it came to treatment both my boys got cleaning done today. Very passionate, friendly, caring andthoroughly service. I am happy I have found my boys a dentist that they will be visiting for a long time regularly. One last thing, our last dentist claimed he needed to do a cavity fix for my 5 year old, about a year ago, but we didn't proceed, there is no visible signs of anything wrong or any cavities with them pearly whites of my son, but I wouldn't know I am not a dentist. But today DeWitt confirmed that there is no sign of cavities, witch in my eyes means he is not going to rip of your insurance to do unnecessary treatment on your children's cost. Be aware because I feel like our last dentist was definitely planning to do so. But not DeWitt he is for health and happiness not insurance. One last thing I forgot to mention is the cleanliness, he washed his hands and changed gloves often, even though I feel like my boys got the same germs DeWitt still changed everything and cleanliness and sanitary was important. Before each of my boys got a turn he cleaned up VERY well everything and washed his hand before putting his gloves on( I tell my boys to wash their hands as long as the happy birthday song is, DeWitt actually washed his hand like that)
